You can delete the IP PIN that you entered that are incorrect using the steps listed below. An IRS Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN) is a 6-digit number that is assigned to eligible taxpayers to help prevent fraudulent federal income tax returns from being filed using your Social Security number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).
If you are using TurboTax Online/Mobile: Go to the IP PIN screen which is under Other Tax Situations. You can edit your IP PIN number there.
If you are using TurboTax Desktop:
Click here for How do I add or remove my 6-digit IP PIN?
If you have additional questions regarding this, please return to TurboTax Community. We would be happy to help you.
Not sure what you mean by "entered incorrectly due to the system"---since the user is the one who keys in the IP PIN. Did you enter it in the wrong place?
If you have a 6 digit PIN issued to you by the IRS you need to enter it in order to e-file. Go to Federal>Other Tax Situations>Other Return Info>Identity Protection PIN and enter the six-digit PIN.
