install of turbotax on d:/ and not c:/

Buying TurboTax 2024 Premier from Costco, if install problems on Windows 11 Pro install is fixed. Have used TurboTax for many years, but c:/ has little space and need to install on drive d:/. As TurboTax 2023 would not download info from TurboTax 2022, first time this has happened, and TurboTax 2023 would not e-file, also first time with no reason which required that I print and mail 2023 tax forms. Have the TurboTax problems on Windows 11 Pro ben fixed? How do I install on drive d:/?

It is probably not possible since no option is given as to where to install it.

Nothing I could find on the internet suggests installing on D: (without an os) is possible.

if it can't be done that leaves you with some options

1) certain folders can be compressed to save space. How this would affect your computer is unknown

2) decrease the size of the paging file. Again the effect on your computer is unknown

3) buy a larger hard drive then clone the present c drive

4) create a dual boot system. This will require installing W11 on D. Other steps taken will allow the installation of Turbotax on D. Other steps are needed when booting so you can select which drive to use. However, programs on the original C probably will not function. Note that installing the OS fresh on D will probably result in the loss of all files present on D.

I can't speak to 2024, but in the past, turbotax would only work correctly if installed on the same drive as the operating system (the C: drive, for PCs).  I suppose you would have to try it, or call tech support to verify if that is still true.  Can you move other items from C: to D: to free up space on C:?
