Information for box 20 not available but turbotax wants it.

I received a settlement check from a class action suit. The W-2 I received doesn't have a value for box 20. This has cause an error during the review for both federal and state. How do I correct this. I called the settlement group for information on what to put in box 20. They said they couldn't give tax advice and I would have to seek advice from TurboTax.  I received two W-2's and one 1099-misc for this settlement. Please help.

Is there anything in boxes 18 or 19, what's there?

Well, if you received wages that are taxable in a locality, meaning a city, or any other taxing district in your state, where you have to file a return, then you need to enter what locality or city that was.  If the issuer just entered that amount in Box 18 because they didn't know if you paid any city or other local inome taxes, then you need to get them to delete that amount.

This same amount is in boxes 1, 3, 5 and 16.

It looks like the amount was put there just in case.  If you know you don't file any city or other locality income taxes, Call the issuer and ask them to send a corrected W-2
