I live in Oregon, and I changed my Oregon State withholding from 1 deduction to 3 and my FICA medical and Social Security doubled on my bi-weekly paycheck, WHY?

Your FICA and Social Security payroll withholding would not be affected by the number of allowances you claim on your Oregon W-4. Those items are based solely on your income subject to Social Security and FICA. You should examine your paystub to determine what is really going on.
FICA is Social Security & Medicare tax in W2 boxes 4 & 6. That only is for federal.
Social Security in box 4 is 6.2% of box 3. For 2024 the max for Social Security is $10,453.20 on $168,600 of wages (168,600 x 6.2%).
Medicare in box 6 is 1.45% of box 5, no max.
Maybe you had some other tax or deductions that increased too. Check with your employer if you don’t understand your paychecks.
