In the past, I have used turbotax deluxe to do 2 returns. One is for me and the other for a person I am guardian and conservitor. Do I have to purchase turbotax twice?

You use online, yes, you will have to purchase two returns.  However, you may not have to have deluxe both times.  Always start with free and if you have forms that require an upgrade to another TurboTax product you may do so.  You can also try to see if you qualify for https://turbotax.intuit.com/taxfreedom/ where you can file your returns completely free if you qualify.
