In the Federal Information Worksheet, the "City" box has New York, even though I live abroad and have checked the foreign address box. How do I clear this field?

Try these steps to resolve this issue -

• Return to the My Info section and select the edit next to your mailing address
• Change the mailing address drop-down box from Foreign address back to US address
• You may see part of your US address still there (i.e New York) - remove any entries still present
• Change the drop-down box back to Foreign address from US address
• Reenter your current foreign address and continue to file your return

Go to MY INFO from the left-side dark menu.  Scroll down to MAILING ADDRESS and click the blue pencil to the right to Edit.

Enter the correct info and Continue (screenshot).

I have entered my UK address, but when I get to the final checks there is still "New York" written in the US address box, along with my UK address below it. I have checked the box saying "check this box to use foreign address", but I am still not allowed to file. How do I delete "New York"?

Try Deleting all the Address Info and Re-entering it.  What is the Error Message you receive when trying to efile?

My error is "Federal information worksheet: use foreign address box - You have indicated a foreign address is being used. All US Address fields must be blank."

I check the "use foreign address" box, click continue, and then get have to click "fix federal return". I then get returned to the error.

I'm going through the same issue and no one is able to help me. I entered my Portuguese address by mistake and now I can't delete it or able to file, even when I re-enter my address info.

For me, I had to select the drop-down box and select US again, to see and clear the relevant fields. Then I use drop-down again to re-select foreign address.
