Does Premier come with one State Filing?

A co-worker purchased the CD version and his come with filing in one state. The online breakdown said it's an additional ~$35. So which one is it???

Both.  Online web version is completely different than the Desktop program.  Desktop does have some more features. In the Online version state is an additional 36.99 charge.

Actually in the Desktop program you get one free state PROGRAM download to do unlimited state returns in that state.  But each state return including the first one is 24.99 to efile or free to print and mail.

In the end, CD or Online costs about the same for Federal and State filings.

Possibly.  But the CD has more features.  You can do unlimited returns (only efile 5) and you can see and enter directly into the forms.  And it has a What-If worksheet.

With the Desktop program your return is kept on your computer so you will always have access to it in the future.  Especially good if you ever need to amend your return or need a copy to buy a house, etc.

You can save your return with another name to test out things.
