In reviewing my 1040SR form before filing, I noticed that line 12c is blank. Line 12c is suppose to be total from 12a and 12b. Line 14 does have the correct amount.

This line is for contributions credit for people who take standard deduction.  It auto filled out $300 credit on 12b when it was suppose to be $600 for married filing jointly.  I changed the amount to $600 but the total doesn't show up on 12c, however line 14 does have the correct amount.  My question is will line 12c being blank cause any problems processing my return by IRS?  Thanks

For the TurboTax online editions -

The problem appears to be that a charitable donation was entered in the Deductions and Credits section of the program when you are only eligible for the Standard Deduction.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen

Click on Tools

Click on Delete a form

Scroll through the all the forms, schedules and worksheets listed and delete all the Charitable Organization forms listed.

When completed with removing forms click on Continue With My Return at the bottom of the list.

Click on Federal on the left side of the screen

Click on Deductions & Credits at the top of the screen

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Wrap up tax breaks

Continue through the screens.  After the screen showing that you are getting the Standard Deduction the following screen is Charitable Cash Contributions under Cares Act.  Enter $600 if filing Jointly or $300 for all other filing status'.  The federal review and the Final Review should no longer show an error for the charitable donation.

Thanks for your fast reply.  I'm filing standard deduction on federal and itemized on my state. When I delete a contribution in the federal section,  it also deletes it for my state.  I went in and changed the $300 to $600 when the program came up with item to review. My concern is will line 12c being blank cause any errors when the federal processes the return? Line 14 have the correct information but it's suppose to be the total from 12c and 13. Both 12c and 13 are blank. Thanks for your help
