Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

In 2025 software, after I hit next after the 2024 and 2025 Deductions and Credits comparison screen, I get an error saying "hmm, looks like we've hit a snag." Help!

It says to "We recommend you revisit the last topic you were working on to make sure all your info's correct." but there are no errors there.

Sometimes you need to clear your cache (that is, remove these temporary files) because a full or corrupted cache can cause problems in TurboTax.  You can try these steps if you are using the online version:

  • Clearing your Cache and Cookies
  • Using a different browser
  • Opening an Incognito Window

Sadly it’s the software not online.

If you are using the Desktop program, try running it as Administrator by right-clicking the TurboTax desktop shortcut or .exe file and select "Run as administrator".

You can try these steps to correct this:

  •  Go out of your program, close your browser and go back in.
  • Try a different Web browser, such as Chrome or Firefox.
  • Make sure you have allowed local network access by clicking the lock/info icon next to the URL.
  • If you are using a VPN, disable it.
  • Make sure your internet connection is strong and stable
  • Try using incognito mode
  • Temporarily disable antivirus or firewall software that might be blocking data transmission
  • If you are using TurboTax Desktop, you can manually check for updates for  your TurboTax program by clicking on "Online" in the black bar near the top of your screen and selecting "Check for Updates."
  • It may be a temporary server issue. This requires you to wait and try again later.
