Importing Tax Info

In previous years when I imported my tax info (1099s) from Fidelity my recollection is that TurboTax displayed what you imported. That way you could review it and make any necessary adjustments. This year I imported one account (of several) from Fidelity and there was no recognition or display for me to review. It appears an import occurred because I saw that the Federal Refund/Due line on the upper right changed.

How can I review the imported detail and make my adjustments before I progress too far into the process?

Importing Tax Info

To view the import, follow these steps in TurboTax:

  1. Open or continue your return.
  2. Go to Federal, then Wages & Income, then Investments and Savings.
  3. Select Revisit next to Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other (1099-B).
  4. If you see Did you sell any of these investments in 2023?, select Yes. If you see Your Investment summary, select Add more sales.
  5. Select Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds and Continue.
  6. Type the name of your financial institution in the search box, select the appropriate financial institution name, and select Continue.
  7. Enter your financial institution's credentials to sign in, and follow the remaining screens to re-import your 1099-B forms. Be sure to re-import only the forms that you deleted previously. If you made adjustments after your original import, you will need to re-enter those as well.
  8. Continue until it brings you back to the main 1099 screen, then click edit next to the 1099 you wish to review
