You have to give TT some form of payment in case something goes wrong ---- like if the IRS keeps your refund, or if the IRS takes too long to issue your refund; when you choose "refund processing" you are also agreeing that TT can take its money out of your account if something like that happens. They send you several emails and then they just take the money out of your account even if you have not received your refund.
