Make sure you have entered your child as a dependent in My Info, and that you have entered the child's Social Security number. If your child was born in 2021make sure you said he lived with you the whole year. There is an oddly worded question that asks if the child paid over half their own support. Say NO to that question.
You should see your child tax credit on line 28, the EIP on line 30 (if you did not already get it), and if you qualify for earned income credit it will be on line 27a
Federal>Deductions and Credits>You and Your Family>Child Tax Credit
The IRS is sending out letter 6419 to you. It will show the amount of advance child tax credit that you received during 2021. Enter the information from that letter carefully. The remaining amount of CTC that you can receive will show up on line 28 of your 2021 Form 1040.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.
NOTE: The CTC is indeed a “credit” that can be applied toward any tax liability that you would otherwise have to pay as “tax due” to the IRS.
Your child tax credit will auto calculate based on the information you entered regarding your dependent in TurboTax. You would normally receive a $3,000 credit for a child aged 12. You can view your tax return and look on line 19 and 28 on form 1040 to see if you are getting the credit.
You can view your form 1040 while working in the online version of TurboTax by following these steps:
While working on your return in the Federal section of TurboTax:
1. Choose the Tax Tools icon on your left menu bar
2. Tools
3. View Tax Summary
4. Choose the Preview my 1040 on your left menu bar
I do not see it on line 19 or 28, we have an agreement to be able to claim him every other year. I get to claim him for this year's taxes.
Any advice or thoughts?
Thanks......
