If you're married filing jointly, are both you and your spouses taxes done together or would they have to file for a separate return?

Yes, you both are treated as one taxpayer.
You both file one return and receive one refund (or owe one tax bill).
Start the return in one of your names. If one of you used TurboTax last year, that person can start a joint return in that same account. If you both used TurboTax last year, only one of you can continue with an account.
Add the spouse's information in the "My Info" section.
Enter all the tax documents on this one return.
Enter any dependents you both are claiming.
