How do i file 1040 as self employed

If you're filing online, you can only complete this process through TurboTax Self-Employed. If you are using a download/desktop version of the software, you'll need Deluxe or higher.

  1. Sign In - Continue your/take me to my return.
  2. Go to Federal Taxes (or Business, if shown), then Income & Expenses
  3. Edit/Add/Update Self-Employment/Schedule C Income/Expenses
  4. On the page titled Here's the business info we have so far, Add/Edit business/income items
  5. Next page is titled Your .... Business. You can enter income under business income and you can enter taxes paid under Other Common Business Expenses and related categories
