If you looked at the interview for the Form 14039 identity theft affidavit, it might have started one.

Here's how to delete a Form 14039 Identity Theft Affidavit if not needed:

  • Open your return if not already open ("Take me to my return").
  • Once past the blue-green screen, go to the left column menu and click on Tax Tools then Tools.
  • In the Tools window choose Delete a form.
  • Select Delete next to Form 14039 and follow the onscreen instructions.
  • Then at the bottom click on "Continue with my return."
