Why do I have to pay to efile my taxes? What happened to free TurboTax as seen on TV commercials?

If you are trying to use the Free Edition and are incurring extra charges or having to upgrade, see the TurboTax FAQ below for explanation and help with removing certain charges and downgrading back to free.
