If I had to pay for crisis insurance due to loss of healthcare coverage can't I deduct that?

If you are itemizing your return, you can include it in with medical expenses. You would get a deduction for it if your total medical expenses exceed 7.5% of your AGI.

Adjusted Gross Income on line 7 of your 1040. Basically if you only have income from your job then that would be your AGI.
