Can you clarify why the county and federal do not match? @Dwaine S
Yes. In the My Info section at the beginning of the Return, I have the correct Texas address and county (Henderson).
In the OK State section, the address on the 511-NR is correct, but the county shown is the OK county (Garfield).
There is a point in the State process that asks for my OK county, but not the OK address. I looked it up at IRS.GOV, and I am supposed to enter my current TX address on the OK form, 511-NR.
I've always used the software version of TurboTax, where I could manually change the county.
I don't want to submit this tx return and it be tagged for fixing.
So, to be clear, my OK form, 511-NR, correctly shows my current TX address with the incorrect county.
Thank you for your help.

Any ideas?
The question is asking for the county in which the Oklahoma income was earned. You might have to google what county your employer is in.
Correct.
I did that correctly.
My question involves the form itself.
It wants my current physical address, including county. This is, of course, on my federal. However, instead of my current county, the form - in the current address section - lists my OK county.
it’s not a separate place on the form - it is part of my current address.
The instructions for Form 511-NR (Oklahoma Non-Resident or Part-Year Resident Income Tax Return) say to enter your name, address and county on the top of the tax return.
Even though the TurboTax instructions mention entering the county where you earned the OK-source income, because you are a non-resident of OK, based on the instructions it makes sense to use your current address and county on the Form 511-NR.
I need to restate what's going on so we can all be on the same page - including me.
- My OK form, 511-NR, requires my current TX address and county.
- TurboTax has, I believe, incorrectly put my OK county there instead.
- Because I am using TurboTax Online, I am unable to put my TX county manually.
- I agree with Karis_F that the form needs my TX county, not my OK county.
- I need a way to fix this in the online version of TurboTax?
I would use the purchased version of TT and be done with it (I can change forms manually with that product), but it is more than twice the price.
I believe we have established that the top of the 511-NR form requires my TX county, so the real issue is figuring out how to overcome the online failure to do so.
This is the only place I know to get help.
I just can't file until I get this fixed.
Thanks, everyone.

I see the issue you are having and tested it in TurboTax Online and TurboTax Desktop. You are correct that the county is a required field for Form 511-NR, and the only counties listed are ones in Oklahoma.
Since the county field is required, the best solution is to choose the OK county where your OK income came from.
Technically it will look odd to have an OK county name next to a Texas address, but this way all fields will be correct.
Because the Form 511-NR instructions were not overly specific on how to fill out the address line on the tax return, I don't think the county field will matter in the end as long as your current address in on the form.
So, OK counties are only available in both versions of the software? Online and Desktop?
Okay. Thanks for checking that.
I do have an email to the OK tax people, just to be sure.
That is correct. On the Oklahoma tax return, the drop down selection for the county is only OK counties. Leaving it blank results in an error and will not allow you to advance to the next screen. This is the case in TurboTax Online and TurboTax Desktop.
Hello,
I face the same issue. This is a bug in Turbo Tax (I use the desktop version). It should not re-use the state entered in that screen for the current home address.
Anyway to submit a bug to Intuit?
Thanks!
The OK return contains OK counties for their internal use. OK does not need counties outside of OK. You can enter the OK county where the income was earned to get past the screen. Your nonresident form and actual nonresident address are all the proof needed.
Once you file your return, as long as the settings to receive communication from Intuit don’t block it, you will see a pop-up message or receive an email with a survey asking you about your experience. We encourage you to leave your notes and comments there. “Voice of the Customer” notes and comments are read and acted upon.
If you are using TurboTax Desktop, you can also leave feedback at the Final Steps tab.
