If personal exemptions went away why is the following question in turbo tax? Did you and your spouse claim equal amounts of the personal exemption amounts of $6,600.00?

Sounds like the program is asking about the state exemption amount from Arizona which is $6,600. Some states still have exemptions, but not federal.

Where are you seeing that question?  Is that on a state return?  State returns might still have a personal exemption in some states. The personal exemption for federal returns is gone.
