If my wife made less than 10,000 last year, should we file jointly or separately?

They didn't take any taxes out of her check.  This makes me think they did this for a reason.  But if we file jointly, then I can see the math working out where it's our income combined & then she gets taxed.

Usually married filing jointly is advantageous. There are certain credits that are not available when filing as married filing separately and if one spouse itemizes the other spouse must, even if he or she has no deductions. Please view the Turbo Tax FAQ below for more information.
