If my state allows alimony deductions for a divorce in 2025, do I enter it in the federal section so it will transfer or only in state section?

I know my alimony payments for a 2025 divorce are not allowed for my federal return. However, my state (CA) does allow alimony deductions. Do I enter the alimony deductions only when working on my CA return, or do I enter it when working on my federal return (thinking TurboTax will disallow it for federal but transfer to my state return)?

Enter the alimony payment information under the Federal Deductions and Credits and Other Deductions and Credits.

Alimony which may not qualify on the Federal income tax return, may be deducted on the California income tax return.

Alimony on the California income tax return is found on California Schedule CA 540, line 19a.
