If your child received a W-2, you may be able to use the Form 1040-EZ

However, if your child received a 1099-MISC income, you will use Form 1040

You can start with the free edition and TurboTax will prompt you if you need to upgrade.

W-2 or 1099-MISC? Any taxes withheld? and which state?
