I received $1000 from a church as a personal gift? Do I need to report this on my taxes?  I am a missionary of sorts, but I am only currently payed with a 1099, so I am not full time, and this gift was given as a personal gift.

If it was reported to you on a 1099-MISC, then it is reportable and taxable. If it was just given to you and not reported on a 1099-MISC then it is a gift received and that is not reportable or taxable.
