If I pay for an expert are they able to obtain my w2s or do I have to get them and add them myself?

Your employer must provided the W-2 to you.  They have until the end of January to do so.  A TurboTax Tax Expert cannot obtain the W-2 for you.

The tag below your question indicates that you are using TurboTax Live. That gives you access to tax experts for help and questions, but you still prepare your tax return yourself, including entering the information from your W-2s.

If you use TurboTax Live Full Service a tax expert prepares your tax return for you. In that case you do not have to enter your W-2s, but you have to send the W-2s to the expert. The expert cannot obtain your W-2s from your employers.
