If i made $1,900 from a job and my partner is claiming me as a dependent, do i still need to file a tax return?

If i made $1,900 from a job and my partner is claiming me as a dependent, do i still need to file a tax return?

No, you are not required to file unless this is self employment income. Any amount of self employment income over $400 must be filed.  If you made over $6,300  then you would be required to file. If you are not required to file you can if you wish to recover any withholding. Be sure if you do file you select that someone else is claiming you as a dependent on your return.

But if you got a 1099Misc or cash income you have to file for only $400.
