If I i use the software disc will my returns save online under my account as well? I see the disc for deluxe is cheaper on amazon now than logging in and choosing deluxe

No.  If you use the Desktop CD/Download program it only saves your tax return on your computer not online and not on the CD disc.  Be sure to save often.  And when you are done save both the .tax2018 file and pdf file.

If you used the online version last year we can tell you how to transfer 2017 into the Desktop program.

Also if you need to do a state return be sure to buy the right Deluxe.  There are 2 versions.  Deluxe with a state program and Deluxe without state.
