It depends. When you complete your W-4 complete Steps 3–4(b) on Form W-4 for only ONE of job if you have more than one. This will take into account the child you will be claiming as a dependent and the child tax credit you will be entitled to on your tax return next year.
The purpose of this section is for your employer to take less federal withholding and give you more in your paycheck. The current version of this form can be reviewed at the link below.
For filing status you can choose single for the highest amount of withholding. Choose married filing jointly if you are married or head of household if you will pay for the household expenses during the year.
Child Tax Credit for 2022:
So that you do not need to switch the W-4 again next year I highly recommend you enter only 1 child under 17 on line 3 of the newly designed form where you don't claim allowances for yourself any longer.
