If I had a child that lived for 20 minutes in 2017 and she has a birth certificate and s.s card and did not claim her, can I claim her this year?

So sorry for your loss. You cannot claim the child on your 2018 tax return. If you did not claim the child on your 2017 tax return, you can amend your return and claim the child for that year only. When you answer the question about how many months the child lived with you, the correct answer is the entire year.

So sorry for your loss. You cannot claim the child on your 2018 tax return. If you did not claim the child on your 2017 tax return, you can amend your return and claim the child for that year only. When you answer the question about how many months the child lived with you, the correct answer is the entire year.
