1) if you were single as of 12/31/22 then you file single on the 2022 return
2) if you changed your name then you usually would use the new name but if you JUST got the new SS card the IRS may not yet have your new name on file ... so you can try filing with the new name but if the return is rejected you can either change back to the old name OR wait 6 weeks for the SS records to update in the IRS system (doing this may make cashing the check difficult)
if you no longer have a checking account in your name only (unlikely?), you can apply all your refund to next tax year.
