Questions about e-filing. I e-filed once or twice a long time ago and after the e-file I had to send a complete copy of our taxes anyway via surface mail with a "wet" signature. Is that still the case? If so, what is the advantage other than maybe getting a refund quicker?
Does TT attach a copy of the Federal file to a state file?
Thanks!

If you e-file your return you do not have to mail anything. It has all been done electronically. You "sign" by entering your 2019 AGI from line 8b of your 2019 Form 1040 so there is no physical signature on an e-filed return.
If your state is one that requres a copy of the federal return that is also taken care of if you e-file the state return.
You should print out a copy of the filed return for your own records, and save the tax file and the pdf of the return. And...keep copies of your documents like W-2's, 1099's etc.
Thank you for the updated information. Glad to hear we no longer have to also surface mail our returns!
