If I don't have to file a federal tax return, why are you charging me?

I have on SS for income, but sold my house. I don't have to pay taxes on the sale, but you're charging me over $80 for me to print out the info.  Why?

The TurboTax fee is for the preparation of the tax return and it has nothing to do with whether you owe taxes, are getting a refund, or have no tax liability.

If you don't have to file a tax return, then you don't have to use TurboTax and then we won't charge you anything. If you just want to enter the information into TurboTax and see what the result is, you can do that for free because we offer a "try before you buy" model. But yes we will charge you to print it out because that is a fully prepared tax return.
