If I didn’t work all last year does it affect my taxes this year?

It depends if you have other income- you may have retirement, disbaility, or investment income for example. If you did not have any income you may not have to file.

2018 can affect 2019 if you had amounts that would carry over to 2019. we can't see your return so have no way of knowing if you had any. If you didn't file then even if you had carryovers you can't use them because they will not be on record with the iRS.
