If I did not have income in 2020 what would I use as my AGI?

I used a zero as my AGI and it was rejected any other ideas?

If you did not file a 2020 tax return you could choose to say that you did not file a return.  If that choice or zero do not let you e-file then you can print , sign and mail your return.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

If you filed a joint return in 2020 then the AGI on that return is the AGI you need to use even if you personally had no income reported on the return.
