If I am filing for an Injured Spouse relief which is form 8379, why do I keep getting asked to check my Form 8857 entry. Are they the same thing?

No, they are not the same thing.

TurboTax allows you to file both an innocent (Form 8857) and injured spouse claim (Form 8379) - these are two very different things (See What is an innocent spouse and how does it differ from an injured spouse?)

. Since you know you need Form 8379, you can delete Form 8857 by doing the following:

  1. Log into your return.
  2. In the left hand navigation, click on the Tools link.
  3. In the Tools box, click on Delete a Form
  4. In the Forms list, find the Form 8857 and click delete.
