If 1099 MISC income was earned out of state do you file a state return?

The company that issued that paid the 1099 is not located in the state worked in. There was no rental or living arrangements, just a few days spent at a hotel.

You need to pay taxes in the state in which you lived and worked. Not necessary the state in which the payer in located.
