If your return is still in progress, you still have time to add your IRS pin to your return. If your return has been e-filed and accepted, you will not be able to add it to the return. Most likely the return will reject if the information was omitted. If that happens, once it is in a rejection status, you can go back in and add the pin.

1. To enter the Self Select PIN in TurboTax Deluxe Online:

  •     Sign into your TurboTax Deluxe online account
  •     Click Continue my Return
  •     Click File and look for the "Here are your filing choices" screen (you may need to click the Prepare to Send button to get there).
  •     Make sure E-file is selected before clicking Continue.
  •     On the "Before you file"..., click Yes I filed a return last year
  •     On the "Let's get your Personal Identification Number" screen, either:
    •         Re-enter your PIN in the space provided; or
    •         Click the checkbox I can't get my PIN... and then re-enter the AGI in the field provided.
  •     Click Continue and keep going through the screens until you've re-transmitted your return.

 2. To enter the IRS IP PIN (6 digit pin), see directions below that describes how to enter it into TurboTax Deluxe online.
