I worked as a contractor for one company and as an employee for two others.How is this handled tax wise with things like milage which I have three separate amounts?

I never felt I credit in the past for milage done for a W2 companies.

Yes, you may be able to deduct your vehicle mileage both as a W-2 employee and as a self-employed contractor. Although you will enter the same information about your vehicle in both areas, enter only the mileage that relates to how you were paid.

Even though you were paid by more than one company for your contracting work, enter the total mileage for both contracts as follows: Where do I enter my self-employment business expenses, like home office, vehicle mileage, and suppli...

Remember that you must have a written log of your mileage in order to take this deduction.
