It depends. If you are a contractor, it is self-employed income. If you are an employee, then your income is wages, w2 income. Your income should be reported in USD.

In addition, if you paid income tax to Canada, you will need Form 1116, Foreign Tax Credit (Individual, Estate, or Trust).
