I won a new TV in a contest in 2017. The contest holder, and the contest sponsor, are both refusing to supply me with a 1099-MISC/EIN/SSN for my taxes.

The turbotax site will not let me submit my taxes for the year without the EIN.
So, what do I do now?

Perhaps this may help.  Can you enter the Fair Market Value of the TV; i.e., state with reasonable certainty what it is worth should the IRS ask for proof of its value later?

To enter/edit prize money (not on a 1099-MISC):

1.     Open your return (or continue if open).

2.     Click on “Take me to my return” button.

3.     Click on Federal tab (left-hand side of screen).

4.     Click in Wages and Income (near top of screen)

5.     Scroll down to Less Common Income.

6.     Click on Start next to Miscellaneous Income.

7.     Click on Other reportable income.

8.     Follow the prompts.
