I was unemployed all of 2016 and am getting a message from turbo tax saying that I didn't meet the minimum required income to e-file. Do I need to file taxes at all?
I was between jobs and still in my parents' home, but am no longer a dependent on their taxes.

If you don't have an income, or anything to deduct, you won't have anything tax-worthy and thus won't need to file a return.
