I was told that I can write off my childs health insurance, is that true? If he is on my policy, how do I separate his portion from mine?

If you pay for your own health insurance, you can deduct your payments as a medical expense, but you must be able to itemize deductions, and your total medical expenses must exceed 10% of your Adjust Gross Income (AGI). There is no special deduction for your child's health insurance. It's included in the total figure for health insurance.
