The EIN is on your W-2.  It is not a PIN # that you have for your state. For each W-2, Wage and Tax Statement, verify that Employer ID Number (EIN) and Employer Name have been entered correctly. If necessary, contact the employer to make sure the EIN and Employer Name are accurately reported on the W-2 that they issued. The employer may need to issue a corrected W-2. After reviewing and making any necessary changes, refile the return. If the reject continues, you will need to print this return and file by mail.

I mistakenly entered the wrong EIN on one of my W-2 forms....I've gone to Fix It, Let's Fix It, but I can't seem to get to the actual website page that allows me to re-enter the correct #.....Help!

To add or edit a W2, follow these steps:

  1. Sign into your TurboTax account
  2. From your federal return
  3. Click on Wages & Income
  4. Click Review/Edit
  5. Next to Job (W-2), click Edit/Add

You can also type W2 in the Search field (next to the magnifying glass in the upper right corner) and then click jump to in the search results.

If you've already entered a W-2, select Edit for the W-2 you want to correct, or the Add another W-2 button, if you need to enter an additional W-2.
