I was looking for a job and travelled for interviews and the application process was expensive as well. this adds up to around 4500$, should I file an itemized deduction?

It depends on how many other itemized deductions you have.  These expenses go on Schedule A Itemized Deductions where they are subject to the 2%-of-adjusted-gross-income limit.   If your income will allow it, and other itemized deductions are more than the Standard Deduction for your filing status, then it may benefit you. (see below)

You may be able to deduct some of your job search costs if you look for a job in the same line of work.  The following link will tell you which expenses are deductible.  IRS Deductible Job Search Expenses
