I was going to e-file my taxes but I can’t now, I have to mail. So how do I go about it...what do I send to state and so forth?

Log in and go to the FILE tab and choose to mail in the returns then the filing instructions and proper forms will be in the PDF you will download to print.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

I highly recommend using a service where you get proof of delivery.   realize the IRS is way behind in processing paper returns. be prepared to wait 4 to 8 months to receive a refund if one is due.  it may not take that long but others have posted that they had not received their refunds after filing 4 to 8 months ago.
