I was charged $39 dollars for the North Carolina State taxes, but I have nothing to file, I did not earn any income in the state. Can I please be reimbursed for that $39?

No one in the user forum can resolve a billing issue.  If you have a question about your TurboTax fees or billing, make sure you use the word “billing” in your request for help.  Do not use the word “refund.”

You really should explain your situation though.  NC got in there somehow.

Maybe one was required......if gross income was above the minimum NC filing level

1)  Perhaps you are member of the military? whose Home of Record/SLR is NC, but posted in another state?  NC still taxes military income for their NC military people.  (Those posted in NC, but HOR some other state, normally do not)

2) College student (under age 24 at the end of 2021) with parents liviing in NC, but you are going to college in another state ....if you work in any other state, that income "might" need to be reported on an NC tax return ....whether it ends up getting taxed, depends on the details.

3) NC resident, but only working in other states.  Yeah, as an NC resident, you have to file on income from everywhere.
