for the money earned in CA, you'll pay CA taxes, for the money earned in MD, you'll pay MD taxes.
you'll have to file in both states in 2022.
...AND, if you haven't filed for 2021 taxes yet.
IF you moved to MD in 2022, and were a resident of CA all of 2021??... then you just file a CA tax return for 2021. You would still use your new MD mailing address if you are filing now....the mailing address you enter doesn't set your 2021 state residence for tax purposes.
