You can do this easily with TurboTax! When you have completed entering everything into TurboTax that will transfer to your Federal Form 1040, you will just proceed to filing your federal return. Even if a state return was automatically prepared by TurboTax based on your entries, you can choose to ignore this and only file your Federal return, once you are ready to file.
When I get to the e-file section it does both automatically.
See the link below for instructions on how to delete your state return.
Mine only says start over which it says already started when I click that one. And edit. There is no change option.
Plus I can't find the "here are your filing options screen. Ty so much for your help . I hope we can figure this out soon.
To begin click "file" in the left hand menu. You will get to the summary page showing three steps to filing. Step 3 is where you can make the selection of which returns to file.
Once you finish paying for TurboTax you will start step 2 to identify how to process your refunds.
Then step three will be available for you. You will be asked which returns you want to efile/print. Only select the federal and continue.
