I want my fiance to claim my daughter, not me. What do I need to do?

You do not include your daughter on your return.

You fiance can claim your daughter only if he meets all the following rules:

  • Your daughter is not claimed by another taxpayer.
  • Gross Income: Your daughter did not earn more than $4,050 in 2016.
  • Total Support: She provided more than half of the total support for the year. - Support Test
  • Member of Household or Relationship: He must live with your all year.
