I amended my return and would like to know if it is going to be a paper check or actually directly deposited into my bank account

Wait  for your return to be accepted by the IRS before printing, signing, and mailing your amended return.

A check will be mailed to you for your amended refund (the IRS does not allow electronic filing or direct deposit on amended returns).

It may take up between 12-16 weeks to receive your amended refund.  You can track your amended return 3 weeks after you mail your amendment using the IRS tracking system.
