All the notice is telling us right now is the checks will be sent via direct deposit if you’ve already provided the IRS with your bank account information. If you received a refund this year deposited directly into your account, you’re all set.
If the IRS doesn’t have your direct deposit info, you will get a check in the mail.
If I paid taxes through Turbo Tax, and I entered the banking information through them to have them pull the payment out of my bank account, does that mean that the IRS has the information they need to make the Stimulus payment deposit? How can I find out if the IRS has my banking information for this direct deposit? This is very confusing as I gave my banking information to Turbo Tax and not directly to the IRS. When I go to the Get My Payment app on the IRS website, it says that the Payment information is not available. I don't know what to do now. Will I have to wait months for a check, or should I expect a direct deposit?
